Engrave Text
Inside the Punch tab, navigate to the Engrave Text icon.
This tool is used to draw text that will be engraved on the part by the machine. In the Punch Tooling pane, when you click this tool button, a window will pop up, allowing you to select which engraving tool you want to use. Note that at least one such tool should be available to be able to engrave text.
Once the engraving tool has been selected, the input bar displays input boxes for the text, the size, and the rotation angle. Enter these values, and then click on the drawing where the lower left corner of the text will appear. You can also position text precisely by typing in values into the X and Y input boxes and pressing Enter. To engrave the Part name, Comments, and Sheet size that you enter in the Part Settings, you can use the shortcut menu that the Standard button (shown in the input bar) brings up. Select the item from the shortcut menu and click on the position to engrave the text. MetaCAM will automatically display the appropriate text without you having to enter the text manually. Check the Flip option if you want to flip the text like a mirror image.
