Preset: Switches
This page contains various on/off switches that control the behaviour of Punch CAM tooling.

Auto-mount required tools from the tool library: If this switch is turned off, the auto-tooler works with the tools mounted in the turret. If turned on, it will automatically mount tools from the tool library to empty stations in the turret before tooling, to improve the tooling pattern.
Clear turret first: This option is available only if the Auto-mount option above is turned on. The auto-tooler will first clear the turret of all tools, and then will mount its preferred tools into the turret before auto-tooling. (Tools mounted in Fixed stations will not be cleared).
Choose stations manually: This option is available only if the Auto-mount option is turned on. The auto-tooler will choose tools for auto-mounting by itself and will tool up the drawing. However, it will then put up the turret editor and request the user to mount these tools into stations in the turret manually.
Check sheet thickness against tool limits: If this setting is turned on, only tools which are designed to punch sheets of the currently chosen thickness will be used for auto-tooling.
Suppress 1.5X tool length check: Normally, a tool will not be used to tool up a punch length that is less than 1.5 times the tool length. Turning on this setting suppresses this check (use this carefully, since it can result in tooling patterns that can lead to tool breakage).
Suppress overhang check for nibbling tools: Do not filter nibbling tools based on the Maximum sideways overhang metric.
Ungroup cluster punch patterns: Some tooling patterns create clusters of punches; if this switch is turned on, the clusters are ungrouped into individual punches as they are created.
Avoid rectangle tools for area punches: If this setting is turned on, only square tools are used to slug out a rectangular area; rectangle tools are used only to slug out slots whose widths are exactly equal to the rectangle tool widths.
Overcut on acute-angled corners: If this is turned on, the linear tooling on one of the two edges at an acute-angled corner will be extended to overcut into the corner. (Normally, this setting should be off).
Suppress joints in interactive tooling: This setting applies to interactive tooling and will cause the interactive tooler to ignore wirejoint and micro joint settings specified on the Wirejoints page.
During tool changes: This setting is used to control if the turret should be pulled back during tool changes. You can request that the turret be pulled back to clear the clamps or pulled back all the way clear of the sheet during a tool change.
No wirejoint to cover unmounted corners: If this option is enabled, MetaCAM will ignore and remove wirejoints at corner points so that tools can be mounted there. For example, if a notch cannot be tooled.
