Formed Parts
Praxis manages the Forms library and keeps it coordinated across all instances. When parts with formed shapes are imported, it identifies the forms and indexes them against the owner parts so that they can be searched for later. Parts with identified forms are routed through appropriate cutting-technology machines, punches, or combinations. To locate parts with any forms, change the search field to Form Count and enter > 0 (greater than 0) in the search textbox. Locate parts with specific forms, change the search field to Forms, and select any item from the drop-down list to list parts using the selected form.

When importing a part with forming, Praxis auto-extracts the unidentified forms and adds them to the forms database so that, later, they can be approved and updated interactively in a batch.

Form Identification and Approval
When importing a part with forming, Praxis auto-extracts the unidentified forms and adds them to the forms database so that, later, they can be approved and updated interactively in a batch. The auto-added forms are marked as unapproved, while the owner parts are labelled as unidentified. To update or approve the new forms, select the tick option from the options menu or use the shortcut command Ctrl E.

This command runs Forms and Components dialogue with the selected items. If nothing is selected, it pre-selects all unapproved items for editing. Select a form here and update details like name, ID, and DXF layer to apply it to all parts containing it. Close the dialogue to update the options list. Parts are automatically updated with layer and form changes.
