Inserting a Picture

A picture in a report is indicated by a camera icon (rather than the pencil icon used for simple fields).

3D Model Picture

You can insert a picture of the 3D model of the part by clicking Part > Model > Picture.

Clicking on the inserted picture will bring up the Picture dialogue box where you can modify the settings for the picture. All settings match the Label section, however, the following settings will be added as well:

Pen wid – Use this setting to modify the width of the picture border.

Show if – Use this drop-down to specify rules where the picture will only be shown if the selected rule is met. For example, you can specify to only show the image if the model is part of an assembly.

DPI – This setting is used to control the rendering resolution of the picture (higher values will look nicer, but will cause the final report size to become larger).

No 3D PDF – This setting is used to disable the generation of 3D PDF files. Flux can render some of its 3D images as embedded 3D PDF images; these can be zoomed, rotated or panned using some PDF viewers. However, these are not widely supported by all PDF viewers, and some of them may display these as blank boxes.

2D Drawing Picture

You can insert a picture of the 2D Flat of the part by clicking Part > Drawing > Picture.

Clicking on the inserted picture will bring up the Props dialogue box. These picture options are different. The settings here control the line width used for outlines and for dimensions. There are settings to display the bend sequence numbers and to control whether the closed outline of the part is filled.

Geometry – Use this option to adjust the thickness of the geometry lines shown.

Dimensions – Use this option to adjust the size of the dimensions if they have been marked up.

Fill areas – Use this to fill in the drawing area in grey colour.

Bend Numbers – Use this option to display the sequencing numbers of the bends.

Delete – Click on this button to delete the picture from the report.
