Adapt Geometry

The bend radii and bend deduction are checked when a 2D or 3D file is edited in the software. Various processing strategies are used depending on the strategies selected in the Application settings for modifying the workpiece.

The Adapt Geometry dialogue will be displayed if the decision was set to interactive.

A strategy can be selected with these key commands:

  • Click a strategy on the control panel.
  • Click the keys 1, 2, or 3 on the keyboard.
  • Select a strategy with the up/down arrow keys and confirm with the Enter key.

1. Retain Flat Size

The bend radius and bend deduction are adjusted to match the existing unfolding; the bending line remains in place. This will change the part’s side length. The unfolding remains unchanged. If the blank has already been cut to size, this strategy is used.

2. Retain 3-D Dimensions

Bend radius and bend deduction are automatically adjusted in the generated 3D model to achieve the workpiece’s original dimensions. This alters the unfolding, which must then be saved manually. If the blank has not yet been cut, this strategy is used.

3. Don’t Change Anything

Bend radius and bend deduction are unaffected. The part is displayed in 3D with the correct dimensions, but the bend radii shown do not correspond to the bend radii. Each workpiece’s bend’s dimension can change.
