Adding a New Sheet or Material to the Database

To add a new sheet select a thickness from the material tree and select the Add command, then select the New Sheet option. A new sheet is added to the sheets list, and the property editor is displayed to change the properties of the Height, Width, Rolling Direction, Quantity, and Cost, and add extra information such as Location and Comments. Close the Factory dialogue to publish the changes to the server. Use Delete to cancel adding the new sheet or to remove an existing sheet.

To add new material, select the Add command and the New Material option. This displays the New Raw-Material dialogue to determine the Material, the unique Raw Material name, and thickness (as per the working unit set in the Praxis environment). Extra information can also be input such as the surface finish of the material, if the material has a film and whether the material has been treated and if so, how. Once added the user can continue to add the sheet inventory for the material.

A validation check will be carried out and will not allow adding a duplicated raw material with the same name. An error message will be thrown.
