Punch on bend lines: These settings control whether MetaCAM does marking punches on bend lines. If you enable this, you can choose tools separately for mountain and valley bends. You can also indicate the distance from the end of the bend line where the marker punches should be placed. (If the length of the bend line is less than 3 times this distance, the marker punches are not placed).
Filter tools using this filter expression: If you enable this, you can use a filter expression to decide which tools will be used by the auto-tooler. The filter expression can use any of the custom fields of the tool. You can create expressions using the relational operators <, >, >=, <=, <> and =. Further, you can also use logical operators and or to compose more complex expressions.
Use tools from this collection: You can create tool collections using the Tools/Configuration/Punch Tool Collections menu. Once a tool collection is created, it will be listed here, and you can choose the auto-tooler only use tools from that collection, rather than the entire set of tools in the inventory.
The filter expression and the tool collection offer two different ways of restricting the set of tools the auto-tooler will use. In practice, you may use one or the other, but in advanced cases, you can even mix both. The tools from the tool collection you specify will further be filtered using the filter expression before being used.
